Aeration is perfect September project. Aerating your lawn allows oxygen, water and fertilizer to easily reach the grass' roots. After aeration you will want to apply Ultra Compost Crumbles as your fertilizer. You want to make sure your soil has plenty of nutrients before going dormant for the winter. Timing the lawn aeration is important as well. The soil should be moist but not saturated. It is best not to aerate lawns during a drought or high temperatures as it adds stress to the grass.
September is also a good time to repair any bald areas in the lawn with reseeding. Testing your PH in the soil is also a great idea to see if you need to add some of our garden lime.
